Residents Special - Case 1
Description:
A 24-year-old man complaining of right subcostal pain was examined by US that revealed a 2 cm nodule in the upper pole of the right kidney. The lesion was also investigated by CT, and the radiologic report indicated a tumor of uncertain behavior. Wedge resection of the tumor was performed. The specimen (measuring 2.4 x 2.3 x 2.2 cm) contained a well-circumscribed, partly brownish, partly greyish-white 2.3 cm nodule with a thick fibrous capsule.
