Case name: Pneumocystis pneumonia
Case description: 34-year-old, homosexual AIDS patient. He was hospitalized because of recurrant pneumonias. 10 day after he featired clinical signs of sepsis and died . Pneumocystis pneumonia. The lung parenchyma showed scattered firm, gray-red patches reminiscent of a glandular pattern. The alveolar septa are infiltrated by lymphocytes and plasma cells. The interlobular septa are widened, and their edematous loose connective tissue shows severe chronic inflammatory infiltrate.
