Bronchopneumonia

Case name: Bronchopneumonia

Case description: 88-year-old male. He suffered DLBCL. Died because of pneumonia. Bronchopneumonia.

By autopsy, the lungs were found heavy, on cut surface foci of slightly raised, 05-1 cm, yellow areas appear. The parenchyma was friable, on pressure small plugs of yellow ous appear.

Numerous foci of inflammation are seen. Abundant cellular exsudate of PMN cells can be osbserved. Erythrocytes, fibrin, desquamated alveolar lining cells are also present in the alveoli. Some septa underwent necrosis. The vessels are filled with erythrocytes.
