Case description:
A Caucasian 75-year old woman experienced repeated vomiting and diarrhea 3 days prior to surgery. Because of progressive worsening of pain in the right epigastrium and increase of inflammatory parameters, she underwent surgery for "enteritis of unknown etiology". The resection specimen consisted of small intestine 28 cm in length, with focal irregular ulcers up to 2 cm in diameter, up to 2 mm in depth, covered with green pseudomembrane.
